Acheron Trading announces the appointment of Laurent Benayoun as CEO and Director of the Board

Over the past twelve months, Acheron focused on its internal growth and the development of services offered to clients, and made significant progress. The company acquired HedgeTech, a leading infrastructure and trading algorithms provider for institutional market participants. Additionally, it introduced two new services based on client feedback: (1) Principal Market Making (known as the "loan + call option" model), and (2) Command Station, a web interface and API offering configuration, monitoring, and control capabilities for liquidity provision, arbitrage, and agency execution strategies across 75 CEXs and 20 DEXs spanning 15 blockchains. Acheron has also been closely monitoring regulatory developments, and enhanced its compliance procedures.

As of September 30th, 2023, Laurent Benayoun has been appointed as the new CEO. This change  represents a natural progression for Wesley Pryor, the founder and former CEO of Acheron who believes that: “a founder's greatest achievement can be expressed by the team he assembles”. Wesley will remain actively involved as a Partner, and will concentrate on business development and long-term company strategy. “I am proud to nominate Laurent as my successor, as I know he has the skill and relentless drive to ensure our vision translates into reality. Supporting him as he steers Acheron towards continued success will be my great pleasure. Meanwhile, I will be doubling down on what made me love this industry so much: building liquid markets for digital assets with founders doing incredible things.”

Laurent co-founded HedgeTech and subsequently joined Acheron as a Partner, being in charge of  research and development after the acquisition of HedgeTech. During his tenures at HedgeTech and Acheron, Laurent has served as a project lead in Professor Stoikov's Quantitative Trading Strategies graduate class at Cornell University, has acted as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Quantitative Finance, and has been a member of the expert network for Alumni Ventures, the largest and most active VC fund in the US. Additionally, he has been a speaker and guest lecturer at prestigious universities and incubators worldwide. Laurent holds a Master's degree in Financial Mathematics/Engineering from Princeton University, and earned a double B.A. in Pure Mathematics and Economics summa cum laude from Boston University.
