Junior Quantitative Trader

Under the trade name AcheronTrading, the company is a designated market maker and provides liquidity and advisory services to digital asset issuers on exchanges worldwide. It is our belief that market inefficiency is one of the factors preventing digital assets/cryptocurrencies from achieving mass adoption. As such, our focus is to construct and provide liquidity services for digital assets from the most incipient stages and throughout their adoption cycle.

Today, Acheron’s markets represent over ten billion in market share across over thirty exchanges worldwide with team members concentrated in North America and Europe.

Our Services

The following services are included in our portfolio:

(i) Algorithmic market-making services – we provide liquidity for digital assets upon the request of, and on the exchanges designated by the customer: exchanges require digital assets issuers to maintain certain levels of liquidity to remain listed on their platform and we ensure our customers meet (and often exceed) such requirements;

(ii) Exchange advisory and planning – we research, identify and assess the suitable exchange(s) for a digital asset issuer throughout the lifecycle of its digital asset;

(iii) Risk management and modelling – we consult teams in selecting the appropriate liquidity strategy to develop a liquid market while managing the inventory risk for their digital assets

Current Opportunity

We’re now looking to add a Junior Trader to our team to assist our traders in monitoring and supervising operations related to all trading activities flows of assets, treasury, and risk management. You will receive hands-on training from senior members of our trading team and learn how to manage, supervise and track all AcheronTrading’s trading algorithms. You will gain a thorough understanding of AcheronTrading’s activities and of the global digital asset market more broadly.

We are seeing candidates in the following areas

• North America: located in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area

• Europe: located in Antwerp or the surrounding area

• A flexible combination of remote and in-office will be required in either location

What you will be doing

• Supporting the deployment of new algorithms, clients, and markets

• Building quantitative models for Senior trader review

• Monitoring and responding to trading alerts

• Assisting with active trading

• Assisting with trade execution

• Assisting with asset rebalancing

• Helping to keep track of client treasury balances

• Providing recurring and ad-hoc trading reports to clients

• Responding to client questions, escalating questions to senior traders

Skills and experience

• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related technical degree

• Excellent written and verbal English

• Impeccable attention to detail

• Able to act and to take decisions under pressure

• Basic understanding/interest in blockchain technology

• Basic understanding/interest in securing digital assets and creating transactions

• Basic understanding/interest in market structure and trading

• The ability to take ownership of a project while collaborating on it with colleagues

• A passion for financial markets and asset management in general

Previous experience in trading (stocks, equities, cryptocurrencies, etc.) is a bonus. Previous market-making experience professional or hobby is highly desired.
